Alternative to Superset

Podium tracks task dependencies. Superset takes each workspace through review to merge.

Both run coding agents in parallel worktrees. In Podium, you and your agents share issues that record what waits on what, and you can ask one agent to coordinate the others. Superset gives each task a workspace, with pull request review and merging inside the app.

Choose Podium if…

  • Your tasks depend on each other, and you want those links visible to you and your agents.
  • You want one agent to coordinate different harnesses and models, while you can open any agent in chat or CLI.
  • You want browser or phone-browser access to your own machine or a VPS you maintain, with no Podium fee.

Choose Superset if…

  • You want to review diffs and checks, send line comments to agents, and merge pull requests inside the app.
  • You want scripts to install dependencies and start your app in each workspace.
  • You want local Claude Code and Codex usage estimates by model, workspace and session.
  • Teammates on Pro need access to agents running on a shared host.

Add conditional questions to Folio

Say you're building Folio with separate agents on the editor, publishing and responses, then decide to add questions that appear only after a yes answer.

  1. Step 1: Start the independent work

    Podium

Ask the agent coordinating Folio to delegate the editor, publishing and response work to separate issues and agent sessions. Start each issue in its own branch and worktree, and open an individual session to send more instructions while the others continue.

    Superset

Run the independent tasks in separate workspaces, each with its own worktree and agent. Use project setup scripts to install dependencies for each new workspace, then a run script to start the form application in its own terminal pane.

  2. Step 2: Add the new requirement

    Podium

Ask the agent coordinating Folio to add conditional questions under the form-builder issue; it records that the new task waits on the editor and publishing work already underway. You can edit the issue brief as you decide how the form should behave.

    Superset

Create a task with a title and description, set its priority and assignee, and leave it in Backlog. When the editor and publishing work has merged, choose Run in workspace and pick the project and agent.

  3. Step 3: Find what needs attention

    Podium

Look at the task board to see the editor and publishing work in progress while conditional questions waits on them. Open the waiting issue to inspect its blockers, or open an active agent directly and switch between its chat and CLI.

    Superset

Use the workspace board to find agents that are working or need attention, then open the workspace that needs your input. Supported agents can pause for a question, tool approval or plan review; finished and waiting notifications help you notice those changes.

  4. Step 4: Check the finished feature

    Podium

For the final journey check, have the agent attach the form prototype and check notes to the issue before presenting it for review. Open those artifacts from the task, compare the result with the requested behavior, and accept the work or send feedback.

    Superset

Open the feature pull request to inspect its diff, check results and comment thread, then send line comments to an agent for corrections. When the change is ready, merge from the pull request view through your GitHub connection using squash, merge commit or rebase and merge.

Where Superset is the better pick

  • Review and merge inside the app

Read split or unified diffs alongside checks and the comment thread, then send selected lines to a running agent for corrections. Merge through your GitHub connection using squash, merge commit or rebase and merge.

  • Compare local agent usage

Its Usage page breaks local Claude Code and Codex estimates down by model, workspace and session, with subscription quota meters above the chart. Costs use API list prices.

  • Give teammates access to a host

On Pro, grant organization members access to a remote host and remove that access later. They can reach its terminals, agent runs and diff viewer through the relay. Enterprise adds SAML SSO and SCIM provisioning.

Trying both

Use an existing Git repository for your comparison and give each trial a separate task. Podium starts issue work in a branch and worktree; Superset creates a workspace per task.

Use your existing Claude or ChatGPT/Codex login in Podium and your agent subscriptions or API keys in Superset. Keep the trial records in their respective tools: Podium issues in Podium and Superset tasks in Superset.

Questions you might have

Do I have to delegate every change?
You can start with one issue and one agent in Podium. Ask for delegation when the job needs separate workers, and open any session to send follow-up instructions.
What keeps running when I close my laptop?
Closing a Podium browser tab leaves agents on their running host. Local agents need your laptop on; closing it leaves VPS agents on the remote host. Superset terminals survive app restarts in a background daemon, and their host must stay awake and online.
Can I try Superset without paying for a team?
The Free plan covers one user with unlimited local workspaces and projects, with no card required. Your model provider still bills for agent usage under your subscription or API account.
What does Superset offer for a security review?
Superset says it completed a SOC 2 Type II audit in August 2026 and lists the report under Enterprise, available through its trust center. With self-hosted Podium, the host and its security setup are yours to maintain.

Written by Podium from public documentation and source code. This is a documented comparison, not an installed-product benchmark. Folio is a fictional example. Superset captures show its own documentation projects; they do not show Folio running in Superset. Original image bytes were fetched from each vendor and hashed. Podium sources were checked on 9 October 2026; Superset sources on 8 and 9 October. A separate agent reviewed the evidence.
