Alternative to Google Antigravity

Antigravity lets you review each plan. Podium keeps track of the whole job.

In Antigravity, you can start work in a project conversation: run /plan, comment on the plan, then choose Proceed. In Podium, you talk the idea through and ask your agent to coordinate; it records the tasks and what each waits on in issues you and your agents share.

Choose Podium if…

  • You want dependent tasks on a board that outlasts agent sessions.
  • You want Claude Code and Codex agents to hand work to each other, on the Claude or ChatGPT plan you already pay for.
  • You want open-source (Apache 2.0) software running on your Mac or a Linux VPS you maintain.

Choose Google Antigravity if…

  • You want inline plan comments before the agent starts coding.
  • You want to start without a model subscription: the Individual plan includes agent models at $0, with weekly limits.
  • You want the agent to check its work in a browser and save screenshots and recordings for you.

Adding conditional questions to Folio

Say you're adding conditional questions to Folio, a form builder, while agents work on its editor and publishing flow.

  1. Step 1: Decide what needs to change

    Podium

Ask your coordinator in chat. It adds conditional questions as a task under the form builder, makes it wait for the editor and publishing tasks, and makes the end-to-end check wait for it.

    Google Antigravity

Open a conversation in the Folio project and use /plan to describe the conditional-question behavior. Antigravity drafts an implementation plan with verification checkpoints; you can add comments and request a revision before choosing Proceed to begin implementation.

  2. Step 2: Separate the work that can run

    Podium

Keep the new task unstarted with its blockers recorded while agents work on the editor and publishing tasks in their own worktrees and sessions. The board shows dependencies alongside the work in progress.

    Google Antigravity

Start separate conversations for the editor and publishing changes, using New worktree mode to isolate their files. Antigravity also lets a parent agent invoke background subagents; the /agents panel shows their status, so you can follow the delegated work from the conversation.

  3. Step 3: Inspect the result and respond

    Podium

Ask the agent to attach the Folio prototype and check notes to the issue, then present a review offer. Podium keeps server copies you can reopen after the worktree is gone. Use the offer to accept the work or send feedback.

    Google Antigravity

Read the walkthrough and inspect the changed files, then send inline diff comments back to the agent when something needs attention. Antigravity can produce screenshots and browser recordings as artifacts, and its VCS panel lets you create a local commit and push branch commits.

Where Google Antigravity is the better pick

  • Reviewing the plan in place

Choose Antigravity when you want feedback attached to the exact passage of a proposed implementation. Highlight part of the plan, leave a comment, and submit it for the agent to revise before you proceed.

  • Starting with included model access

The Individual plan costs $0 a month and includes agent models, with basic weekly rate limits. Google AI Pro and Ultra raise the limits and add AI credits.

  • Keeping a record of browser checks

Antigravity saves screenshots and browser-action recordings as artifacts. You can inspect what the agent saw and did during a browser task alongside its walkthrough of the work.

Trying both

Use a separate checkout of your repository for each trial. Podium gives issues their own worktrees, while Antigravity offers Local and New worktree modes inside a project. Pick a small change and follow it from the starting brief to the files you review.

Your repository is the common starting point, but each tool uses its own account setup. Work records stay in Podium issues or Antigravity conversations.

Questions you might have

Does creating an issue start an agent?
No. You can record the idea and refine its brief before starting a session. Ask your agent to coordinate when you want it to divide the job and delegate work.
Will agents keep working when I close my laptop?
Agents need their host machine to stay awake and online. Podium can run them on a Linux VPS you maintain; Antigravity Remote Control connects to a server or other machine you already run, and work continues while that host stays online.
Can I use my Claude or ChatGPT subscription?
In Podium, yes: use your native Claude or ChatGPT/Codex login, or Anthropic and OpenAI API keys. Antigravity uses a Google account or Gemini Enterprise, with Claude 5.5 models on non-trial Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra; its CLI also accepts a Gemini API key. Its app plans do not support bringing your own key for extra limits.
Can I use Antigravity without Git?
Yes. A project can contain plain local folders, and Local mode works in the active checkout. Choose a Git repository when you want New worktree mode to separate concurrent changes.

Written by Podium from public documentation and source code. This compares documentation, not hands-on runs. Folio is fictional Podium demo data; the Antigravity captures are Google’s own documentation examples, cropped to the part each step discusses. Podium sources were checked on 9 October 2026; Google Antigravity sources on 8 and 9 October. A separate agent reviewed the evidence.
