Alternative to Orca

Podium keeps the plan. Orca connects your tracker.

Both run coding agents in separate Git worktrees. In Podium you ask your agent to coordinate, and it records the tasks, and what each waits on, in issues you share. Orca can link each workspace to an issue in Linear, Jira or GitHub, so your tracker stays the plan.

Choose Podium if…

  • You want results such as an HTML prototype and check notes kept on the task after its worktree is gone.
  • You'd rather describe a change in chat and have your agent file the tasks and record what waits on what.
  • You want one agent to hand tasks to others, say Claude Code to Codex, and still open any of them yourself.

Choose Orca if…

  • Your team already plans in Linear or Jira and you want each agent workspace linked to its issue.
  • You want line comments, hunk staging and PR checks in-app.
  • You work on Windows or Linux and want a desktop app there.

Add conditional questions to Folio

Say you're adding conditional questions to Folio's form builder while agents work on the editor and publishing, with a final check that needs all three changes.

  1. Step 1: Place the new task

    Podium

You ask the coordinator in chat. It creates the conditional-questions task under the form builder, records that it waits for the editor and publishing tasks, and makes the final check wait for it too.

    Orca

Create a workspace for the change from a name, or pick its issue in Linear or Jira and Orca creates a workspace linked to it. The plan stays in your tracker, and you can change the issue's status, assignee or priority from Orca.

  2. Step 2: Run the separate changes

    Podium

Keep the new task unstarted with its blockers recorded while the editor and publishing agents work in their own worktrees. When those tasks are complete, ask the coordinator to start it. Open any session to send instructions or talk through a result.

    Orca

The editor and publishing agents run in their own workspaces, each with its own branch and terminal. Worktree cards show which agent is working or waiting, and a desktop notification tells you when one finishes or needs you. When both are done, start the conditional-questions workspace.

  3. Step 3: Check the combined result

    Podium

Ask the journey-check agent to attach the HTML result and check notes to the task, then present a review offer. Accept the work or send feedback through the offer; the attached copies stay readable after the worktree is gone. Separate task Git actions can open a pull request through the GitHub CLI or merge the branch.

    Orca

Open the worktree's All Changes diff to inspect the changed files, then pin line or range comments and send the feedback to the agent in one batch. After revisions, stage the intended hunks, commit and push, and create the pull request; you can read failing check logs and reply to review comments without leaving Orca.

Where Orca is the better pick

  • You already plan in Linear or Jira

Work on Linear and Jira issues from Orca and change their status, assignee or priority there, without keeping a second issue record. Each workspace carries the provider's issue ID.

  • Windows and Linux desktops

Downloads cover macOS, Windows 10 and 11 x64 and Linux as AppImage, .deb and .rpm.

  • Detailed code review in the workspace

Review a combined diff, stage individual hunks and resolve conflicts in a three-way view. Line comments go back to the agent as a batch, and you can read failing check logs and reply to pull request threads in the app.

Trying both

Point both at the same Git repository and try each on its own fresh change. Each creates a worktree and branch for its task.

Use your existing Claude or Codex login in either app. Podium holds its own issues, while Orca links workspaces to your external tracker. Try both on fresh work, so neither tool needs records from the other.

Questions you might have

Do I need to start with a large plan?
No. You can create a Podium issue without starting an agent, or begin with one task. Add child issues and dependencies when the work grows, keeping the original issue.
Can I use Orca without Linear or Jira?
Yes. Create a worktree from a name and start an agent there. Linking an external issue is optional, and the workspace can keep its own status and note.
Does Podium start coordinating agents on its own?
No. You ask your agent to coordinate when the work calls for it; tasks can wait unstarted, and you can open any agent directly.
